Leonard Bernstein
American Composer, conductor and accomplished pianist.
Born in 1918 in Lawrence, Mass on August 25.
Studied the art of conducting under Serge Koussevitsky at Tanglewood in 1942.
He eventually became an assistance conductor of the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra during the 1943-1944 season.
He was appointed conductor of the New York City Symphony in 1945 and left in 1947 for Palestine and conducted the Jewish Symphony Orchestra.
He is most famous for his musicals though. Some of those works were as follows:

- Peter Pan
- Wonderful Town
- West Side Story
